Previous ScreenCraft Successes
Anna Klassen
Signed with Manager and Agent, Hired by Netflix
Anna Klassen was the winner of the 2017 ScreenCraft Screenwriting Fellowship and subsequently signed with her manager at Plattform and with an agent at WME, her screenplay was recently voted onto 2017’s The Black List! Also, she was just hired by a major company to write a film adaptation.
"Thanks to the ScreenCraft Fellowship I took meetings with Warner Bros., Sony, Fox Studios, STX, Vertigo Entertainment, and Covert Media – to name a few. I had breakfast with the writers of Die Hard and Face/Off, and ate dinner with the Oscar-winning writers of Brokeback Mountain and Precious. One of the Oscar-winning screenwriters I met at the Fellowship dinner recommended me for a writing gig."
Shiwani Srivastava
Signed with Manager (Affirmative Entertainment) & Agent (Paradigm Talent Agency)
2018 ScreenCraft Comedy Runner-Up, Shiwani Srivastava, signed with literary manager Nicholas Bogner of Affirmative Entertainment and Paradigm Talent Agency after ScreenCraft introduced them.
"I am not based in Los Angeles. I am in San Francisco and I thought the only way to get out there is to start entering contests and see what happens. And because of ScreenCraft, an opportunity did knock. They put me in touch with a manager, like he really understood what I was trying to do with my stories. ScreenCraft put me in touch with a producer and we ended up taking it to a major studio, who expressed interest in my script, which is beyond my wildest imagination. I was so glad that I just kept writing, kept writing, kept writing stories that I believed in. Eventually, everybody has some opportunity, some luck and you have to be ready, and I think ScreenCraft really helped me be ready."
Nabil Chowdhary
Signed with Manager at Sugar23
Less than one month after winning the grand prize in the 2019 ScreenCraft Sci-fi Screenplay Competition for his project Pod, Nabil Chowdhary was introduced to a literary manager by the ScreenCraft team and signed with them for representation. In December 2019, Nabil was named to BOTH The Hit List and The Black List as one of the best screenplays of the year as voted on by entertainment industry professionals!
"I was in constant communication with the ScreenCraft team, seeking advice and looking for guidance on how to navigate this very new situation for me and they couldn’t have been more helpful. I was fortunate enough to win the Sci-Fi competition and within 24 hours had been contacted by several managers who had seen someone re-tweet the notification of my win. A few weeks later I signed with my manager. A month later I had agents. Three months after that, I was flying into LA where I took around 40 generals in the space of two weeks (!). And it all started by taking a chance, a lot of luck, and this competition."
