2020 ScreenCraft Comedy Screenplay Contest Winners
We are excited to announce the winners of the 2020 ScreenCraft Comedy Screenplay Competition.
I Love My Dad by James Morosini has been selected from nearly 2300 entries as the Grand Prize Winner. Guncle Weekend by Erin Fredman & Philip Hall has been selected as the Feature Winner; White Boys by Shari Sharpe has been selected as the Pilot Winner; and Autocomplete by Oscar Pineda-Madrid has been selected as the Short Screenplay Winner.
I Love My Dad is an unbelievable true story feature about a hopelessly estranged father who catfishes his son in an attempt to reconnect. Based on the writer's own experience with his father.
In Guncle Weekend, a feature, a fabulous gay couple's relationship is put to the test when they're forced to pick up their estranged niece and nephew from sleepaway camp and make it back in time for the 'can't miss' event of SF Pride.
White Boys is a half hour pilot following a multiracial group of twenty-somethings who struggle to navigate life and love with a new sense of self-worth and self-awareness, after a not-so-surprising revelation makes them rethink the men in their lives.
In Autocomplete, an advertising executive has his life upended when he downloads a productivity app.
In addition to the ScreenCraft team, this year's jury included executives from Happy Madison Productions, Bradley Cooper's Joint Effort, Seth Rogen's Point Grey Pictures and Mitchell Hurwitz, the creator of television series, Arrested Development.
Congratulations to these winning writers and finalists, and thank you to our judges and to everyone who submitted projects; we read a number of remarkable submissions.
