Let's face it: social media can be the ultimate distraction and often it's what gets us off the track of writing. Still, if you're going to waste time it's better to try and make it productive. These TV writers are active tweeters, sometimes giving a glimpse at what it's like to be in a room, other times sharing funny pictures, articles, and the obligatory food porn.

Lena Dunham - @lenadunham - writer of Tiny Furniture, Girls, and a New York Times best-selling author. 

Liz Meriwether - @lizmeriwether - showrunner of New Girl and writer of the film No Strings Attached

Donald Glover - @donaldglover - when he's not dropping new rap albums Donald "Childish Gambino" Glover wrote for 30 Rock, Derrick Comedy, and continues to work on his own material.
