Slater Set to Pen Series Pilot of The Exorcist

Jeremy Slater is set to write FOX's drama series pilot based on William Blatty's iconic 1971 book The Exorcist and its William Friedkin film adaptation. Alfonso Herrera (Sense8) and Ben Daniels (House of Cards) are reportedly set to star.

The modern reinvention turns the story into a serialized psychological thriller about two different men — the warm and selfless Father Tomas Ortega (Herrera) and the intense Father Marcus Lang (Daniels) — tackling one family's case of horrifying demonic possession and confronting the face of true evil.

Slater, James Robinson, David Robinson and Barbara Wall will executive produce for 20th Century Fox TV and Morgan Creek Productions.
