2019 ScreenCraft Stage Play Competition Winners Announced

We are excited to announce the winner of the 2019 ScreenCraft Stage Play Competition. Selected from nearly 700 entries, The Dishonoured by Aamina Ahmad has been named the winner and OTOSOTR (On the Other Side of the River) by Anatoliy Ogay has been named the runner-up.
The Dishonoured is a spy drama and political thriller about the tense negotiation that follows the murder of a young Pakistani prostitute by a CIA agent in Pakistan. As the CIA and Pakistani Intelligence agency clash, Intelligence Officer Tariq must make far-reaching decisions that will have implications for his career, family, and both nations.
OTOSOTR is a war story through the eyes of millennials. The story is an exploration of the phenomenon of war and peace by the new generation and a search for identity by the author through the story of his grandfather, one of the two hundred thousand Koreans who were deported from the Russian-Korean boarder in 1937 all the way to Soviet Kazakhstan.
This year's jury is comprised of three Pulitzer Prize-winning playwrights, an agent at Creative Artists Agency, and an Emerging Playwright and Award-winning writer on OWN's Queen Sugar.
The following plays have also been selected for special mention:
Broken | Devlin Elliott |
D'Eon | Renny Krupinski |
For Better, For Worse | Reed Arnold |
Liberty | Sarah Lawrence |
Made in Heaven | Steven Bogart |
Taste of Soap | Ariel Zucker |
The Crying Tree | Peter Gunter |
TickTickBoom | M Lee Speyer |
Grand Prize Winner, Ahmad, and Runner-up, Ogay, will receive a cash prize and circulation of their materials to managers and agents.
