Spring 2020 ScreenCraft Film Fund Winners

Leading screenwriting education and talent-discovery organization ScreenCraft and Santa Monica-based media financier BondIt Media Capital have announced three recipients of the ScreenCraft Film Fund Grant Program (Spring 2020).
The first recipient is Moon Manor, a narrative feature that follows a day in the life of Jimmy, an 80-year-old man throwing himself a FUN-eral before his intentional death. The project is helmed by a female filmmaker team, Machete Bang Bang and Erin Granat. Also known as the creative duo “KnifeRock,” Machete and Erin’s short films have been selections of Marfa Film Festival, LA Shorts, and Moonfaze Feminist Film. They also previously worked with the band Coldplay documenting the release of their album “Everyday Life.”
The second recipient is Vicious, a narrative feature based on the shocking true story of Nancy Spungen, a woman brutally stabbed to death by her lover... Sex Pistols bassist, Sid Vicious. That same night, as she sat slowly dying, the couple living below her hosted a dinner party. Vicious follows two couples as they fight over love, art, and the ruthless lies only lovers can tell. The project is helmed by writer/ director Sasha Pasternak and producer Candace Hammer.
The third recipient is A Space In Time, a feature-length documentary about a family, facing the diagnosis of a progressive and fatal muscle wasting disease for their two sons, embark on a journey to create a magical home for them, intended to nurture and enable not disable them further. The project is helmed by BAFTA nominated producer and director, Nick Taussig, and director/editor, Riccardo Servini.

The ScreenCraft Film Fund is administered biannually in amounts up to $30,000 to talented filmmakers with projects that display singular talent, originality, vision, impact and development potential. The program accepts documentary and feature submissions in addition to short films and online series.
ScreenCraft provides ongoing creative development and BondIt (with sister company Buffalo 8 Productions) offer guidance and resources throughout the project’s production.
Previous ScreenCraft Fund recipients include filmmakers KEFF (Kevin Kai Ming Wang) whose film was selected for the 2020 Cannes Film Festival, Samira Shackle and Owen Kean whose film was acquired by VICE, and Danny Madden who has subsequently gone on to debut two films at the Sundance Film Festival.
The Fall 2020 ScreenCraft Film Fund Grant Program is open for submissions. Early deadline ends on September 30th. Applications should be submitted via the ScreenCraft Film Fund Page page here.
