After fifteen years in development hell, the post-apocalyptic Zorro project Zorro Reborn seems to be finally moving forward. The story is described as a post-apocalyptic take on the myth of Zorro and follows a masked and caped stranger taking on tyrants, although the setting is clearly following a more post-apocalyptic wasteland feel (ala Mad Max), as opposed to the Spanish colonial era of California.
Lantica Media and Sobini Films are teaming for the feature and are aiming to begin shooting it in March at the Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios.
Mark Amin (Good Kill, Frida) will produce and is currently looking to attach a director. Albert Martinez Martin is overseeing production for Lantica Pictures while Cami Winikoff and David W. Higgins will executive produce on behalf of Sobini.
Zorro Reborn is action melded with a little science fiction. If you missed today's deadline for ScreenCraft's Sci-Fi Screenplay Contest, get ready to submit to our Action & Thriller Screenplay Contest which has a final deadline of October 20th.
