Raiders!, a book by Alan Eisenstock about two kids from Mississippi who recreate the entire film Raiders Of The Lost Ark, has been optioned by Jeremy Coon (producer of Napoleon Dynamite). The two boys began at age 11 and finished after several years of dedicated work by age 18. Shooting on Betamax and then upgrading to VHS, the young filmmakers, Chris Strompolos and Eric Zala, are now in their early 40s and will produce two projects about their lives with producer Jeremy Coon. Whether or not Coon's project comes to fruition, this is a fantastic video about the boys' enthusiastically inspiring and decidedly quirky tribute remake of Steven Spielberg's classic. Watch it now!
