2021 ScreenCraft Comedy Screenplay Competition Winners

We are excited to announce the winners of the 2021 ScreenCraft Comedy Screenplay Competition.

Borderline Depressed by Amanda Verwey has been selected from nearly 3100 entries as the Grand Prize Winner. The Garbage Man by Dru Johnston has been selected as the Feature Winner and Minimum Rage by Brandon Burkhart has been selected as the TV Pilot Winner.

Borderline Depressed, is a comedy pilot where two women are paired up by a therapist to support each other on their wellness journey. They end up killing a man... and it solves all their problems...

The Garbage Man is a feature about an angel who comes to Earth to grant a wealthy businessman his childhood wish of becoming a garbageman -- a wish he certainly doesn't want anymore. But this angel may not be able to take "no" for an answer.

Minimum Rage is a half-hour comedy pilot about an ex-con with anger issues who needs to find employment as a condition of his parole, and the only place that will hire him is the worst fast-food restaurant in town. Will he make it past his third shift without getting his third strike?

In addition to the ScreenCraft team, this year's jury included managers and executives from MGMT Management, Strong Baby Productions, Hulu, Director and Producer Seth Gordon, TV writer & Showrunner, Lang Fisher and TV writer & Co-Producer, Phil Augusta Jackson.

Congratulations to these winning writers and finalists, and thank you to our judges and to everyone who submitted projects; we read a number of remarkable submissions.
