A digital animator in Australia recently released his video of a fully animated, near-photo realistic human face. The video attracted 24,000 views on YouTube since he posted it a couple of days ago. It has long been speculated that professional actors can be replaced by computer generated animation. How long before actors in live-action movies are fully animated? What possibilities does this create for Hollywood star power? Will actors of yesterday be regenerated tomorrow? James Dean in a rom-com? Elvis in an action movie?
