We are excited to announce the Winner of the Spring 2022 ScreenCraft Virtual Pitch competition!
Eight finalists were selected from almost 1,000 submissions to pitch their projects virtually to an esteemed jury panel at the ScreenCraft Virtual Pitch Finale Event.
Our incredible jury included writers, C Robert Cargill (Sinister, Doctor Strange), Lucy Luna (All Rise, Two Sentence Horror Stories), Anna Klassen (projects for Netflix), Brett Rosen (Junior Agent at WME), Kelly Edwards (HBO SVP of Talent Development), and Cameron Cubbison (Manager at Zero Gravity). The jury provided each writer with feedback and ultimately selected three top pitches.
Winner:
Sarah And Kierra: Super Sleuths by Alason Little
An animated series for children about fraternal twin sisters who solve crimes on the playground at home.
First Runner-up:
Exit Strategy by Teresa Bass
Two sisters invent a fake male cofounder to overcome sexism in start-up funding, but their new fictional business partner soon derails their company and their lives.
Second Runner-up:
Manifesto by Maren Curtis
Utah, 1890. Three women's lives are thrust into chaos when the Mormon prophet declares polygamy is over - with no guidance to families already "living the covenant." For some the nightmare is finally over, for others it has just begun. The Handmaid's Tale meets Big Love in the setting of 1883.
Congratulations to these writers and all of our finalists, and thank you to our judges! If you’d like to receive a notification when this contest re-opens for entries, you can subscribe for updates via Coverfly here.
