News: Soderbergh Possibly Coming Out of Feature Film Retirement?

Steven Soderbergh may be heading back to the big screen. In 2012, Soderbergh had said prior to shooting Side Effects that the prescription thriller, which co-starred Rooney Mara, would be his final feature film. Since directing that film, which debuted in 2013, Soderbergh has focused his efforts on TV, directing the Emmy-winning HBO pic Behind the Candelabra.
News has now broken that Soderbergh is attached to direct the feature film Lucky Logan with Channing Tatum on board to star.
Apparently most of the major studios including Warner Bros., Sony and Fox are all lining up to acquire the hot package, and that a deal should be in place by the end of the week. Glen Basner is shopping the project. The project is being dubbed a hillbilly take on Ocean's 11 and will involve a heist during a NASCAR-syle race
Soderbergh and Tatum have worked together on Haywire, Magic Mike, and Side Effects.
In the meantime, Soderbergh is moving forward with a third season of The Knick as well as his HBO pilot Mosaic starring Sharon Stone.
