News: Shyamalan Reuniting With His "Signs" and "The Village" Star

M. Night Shyamalan is close to reuniting with his Signs and The Village star Joaquin Phoenix for an as-yet-titled feature.
Phoenix is currently in negotiations for the feature that will begin shooting in November in the director's hometown of Philadelphia, which has been the setting for many of Shyamalan's previous films.
Shyamalan will write and direct with Jason Blum producing. Marc Bienstock also produces, while Ashwin Rajan and Steven Schneider are set as executive producers.
No word on the story, as is always the case when Shyamalan's films are in development in these early stages. Shyamalan has enjoyed a career resurgence as of late, with a successful television limited series Wayward Pines, which he executive produced and directed the pilot episode for. His upcoming film The Visit is enjoying some early buzz as well.
The budget for the new film will be similar to that of The Visit, which was made for a mere $5 million of Shyamalan's own money.
