Screenwriter Chris Terrio Signs With WME

"Argo" screenwriter Chris Terrio recently signed with WME.

This step for Terrio's career further solidifies him as an A-list scribe, and he bloomed into fame not too long ago. Terrio received considerable recognition this year, winning the 2013 Oscar and WGA awards for adapted screenplay for “Argo."

The news of Terrio signing with WME was first reported yesterday by Deadline Hollywood. In his article, Mike Fleming Jr. wrote, 'While Terrio’s run goes back to writing and directing the 2005 pic Heights, his ascension to A-list scribe has been fairly recent. Ben Affleck has told me that after carving his previous directing vehicles from the ground up, he could not believe his good fortune when handed Terrio’s 'Argo' script. Since then, Terrio has been writing one high-profile project after another."

According to Fleming's article, Terrio is working on another project for "Argo" producers George Clooney and Grant Heslov, an untitled peace that will be directed by Paul Greengrass.

"Argo" was based on a selection from “The Master of Disguise” by Antonio J. Mendez and the Wired magazine article “The Great Escape” by Joshuah Bearman.

In addition to Argo, Terrio has written the 2002 film short "Book of Kings," as well as screenplay material for the 2005 film, "Heights." He directed both of those projects and one 2010 episode ('I Look Like Frankenstein") of the TV series "Damages."
