News: Two Scribes Set to Write Universal's Van Helsing Reboot

by Ken Miyamoto on November 12, 2015

Screenwriters Jon Spaihts (Doctor Strange, Prometheus) and Eric Heisserer (A Nightmare on Elm Street & The Thing reboots) have signed on to co-write the Van Helsing reboot at Universal Pictures. Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan will produce the film.

Universal is developing a classic monsters multi-film franchise starting with the upcoming reboot of The Mummy. The character of Van Helsing will likely be the center of the classic monsters franchise. No plot details have been released.

Similar to the Marvel and Transformers universes, Spaihts and Heisserer were among a handful of writers Universal assembled for its monster universe writers room.
