News: "Thor" Screenwriter To Rewrite "Masters of the Universe"

by Ken Miyamoto on August 19, 2015

Thor screenwriter Christopher Yost travels from Asgard to Eternia for a rewrite of the Masters of the Universe reboot at Sony Pictures and Escape Artists. Terry Rossio and Jeff Wadlow wrote previous drafts of the reboot which is being produced by Escape Artists leads Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch.

Originally a classic 1980s cartoon and toy franchise, a live action feature version was produced in 1987, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as the evil Skeletor.

Before Thor, Yost wrote many of the Marvel animated features. He also wrote a polish for Thor: Dark World and will co-write the third installment, Thor: Ragnarok, with Craig Kyle. He is represented by Verve and Industry Entertainment.

Masters of the Universe is a mix of fantasy and science fiction. If write science fiction and missed ScreenCraft's Sci-Fi Screenplay Contest deadline, there's always next year so get writing!
