News: Stephen King's "The Mist" Coming to Television

Another Stephen King story is coming to television.
As the television adaptation of his Under the Dome is coming to an end, Stephen King’s novella The Mist will be adapted for television by Dimension Television and writer Christian Torpe. Torpe previously created the Danish series Rita.
King has given his blessing for the series, which will expand on the novella which told the story about a seemingly innocuous mist that seeps into a small town but contains limitless havoc. From psychological terrors to otherworldly creatures, the mist causes the town residents’ darkest demons to appear, forcing them to battle the supernatural event and, more importantly, each other.
It was previously adapted by Frank Darabont for the big screen in 2007.
Megan Spanjian, Matthew Singer, and Keith Levine will oversee the project for Dimension TV.
Torpe has developed programming for Showtime and AMC. He is represented by ICM and Principal Entertainment LA.
