News: DreamWorks Signs Edgar Wright to Helm Shadow Animated Flick

Director Edgar Wright (The World's End, Shaun of the Dead) has signed on to helm an untitled animated film for DreamWorks Animation. The film will center around the concept of shadows.
Little Britain comedian David Walliams will co-write the script with Wright.
The project will replace the scrapped Bill Hader and Josh Gad-led Me and My Shadow Project, which was pulled from DreamWorks' slate in 2017.
DreamWorks Animation's Co-Presidents of Feature Animation Bonnie Arnold and Mireille Soria say in a statement: "Edgar will spearhead a new approach to this fascinating concept and we're ecstatic to have him onboard as director along with David as co-writer. We've always been intrigued by a film concept involving shadows, and now with Edgar's signature comedic style and abilities as a natural storyteller, audiences will be treated to a truly captivating and energetic tale."
Wright's next project is Baby Driver starring Ansel Elgort and Lily James, and he's also attached to the Neil Gaiman adaptation Fortunately, the Milk.
