News: "Drawn Together" Creators Are "Straight Outta Calabasas"

Straight Outta Calabasas, a single-camera comedy series project, has received a pilot commitment at Fox.
The pilot was written and executive produced by Drawn Together creators Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein. The concept to go along with such an interesting (hilarious) title that clearly is riffing on the recent success of Straight Outta Compton? Two profoundly white, liberal L.A. parents discover their 10 year-old-son is a basketball prodigy. They suddenly find themselves wrapped up in a community they can’t possibly understand, forming an unlikely friendship with a family they have nothing in common with.
Jeser and Silverstein have a deal at 20th Century Fox TV, which is the studio that green lit this pilot.
Jeser and Silverstein recently worked on ADHD animated comedy series Axe Cop and Golan The Insatiable. They've also worked on live action project, including stints on Andy Richer Controls The Universe, 3rd Rock From The Sun and Greg The Bunny. Both are repped by WME.
