News: "Bad Words" Writer Set for Cop Comedy

by Ken Miyamoto on September 10, 2015

Bad Words writer Andrew Dodge is teaming with Justin Lin’s Perfect Storm Entertainment for an untitled cop comedy, which is based on a blog by Andrew Ti. The concept flips the cop film genre by showcasing a sidekick character as the hero.

No studio is currently attached. Perfect Storm will package the film with a director and star before taking it onto the open studio market.

Dodge and Perfect Storm are currently developing Playing with Fire, which is also being produced by actor Jeremy Renner and his production company.

Perfect Storm produces the CBS drama Scorpion and Lin is currently directing Star Trek 3 with Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Idris Elba.

Dodge is represented by CAA, Grandview Entertainment, and attorney Tara Kole.
