Mickey Keating on Horror Screenwriting: Subverting Expectations

by ScreenCraft on September 16, 2013

"True life horror happens... when there's no anticipation."

At our recent panel on Horror Screenwriting, writer/director Mickey Keating talked about subverting audience expectations within the expected formula.  Mickey spoke alongside Adam Simon (writer of A Haunting in Connecticut) and Jimmy Loweree (writer-director of Absence) among others.  The event was sponsored by the ScreamCraft Horror Script Contest, DreadCentral.com and the LA Film School.

"Let the audience think they're ahead of you."
