
Deadpool remains at the top of the domestic box office for the second weekend in a row, with a second weekend take of $55 million. The R-Rated film now stands at an unbelievable $235.4 million domestically in just two weeks of release.
Its $152 million debut the previous weekend earned Deadpool a spot among the top ten comic book movie openings of all time.
Deadpool is now the highest-grossing X-Men-related movie domestically.
Kung Fu Panda 3 remained at number two with $12.5 million this weekend, with an overall gross of $117.1 million. New releases Risen and The Witch followed in third and fourth, respectively. Sony's Risen, a film about Jesus Christ, earned itself $11.8 million, while The Witch, a film about Satan (for the most part) earned $8.6 million.
Warner Bros. Pictures' How To Be Single moved down to fifth with $8.2 million and a total of $31.7 million overall. Focus Features' Race, a biopic about Olympian Jesse Owens' at the controversial 1936 Berlin games, was sixth with $7.2 million on its opening weekend.
New releases next Friday include the inspiring Hugh Jackman-led Eddie the Eagle and swords and sandals flick Gods of Egypt.
