News: HBO Orders Bill Hader Comedy Series Pilot

HBO has ordered a pilot for the half-hour comedy Barry starring SNL alum Bill Hader. Hader co-wrote and will executive produce the pilot with Alex Berg (Silicon Valley). He will also star and direct as well.

The show centers on a former Marine who works as a low-rent hitman in the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied with his life, he begrudgingly travels to Los Angeles on a job and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the L.A. theater scene.

Hader co-created the IFC series Documentary Now! and starred in the Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck.
