Announcing the 2018 Short Screenplay Contest

We’re thrilled to announce the 2018 ScreenCraft Short Screenplay Contest! Now open for submissions. The Hollywood jury includes executives from Warner Bros’ Stage 13, SuperDeluxe, Vimeo Staff, VICE, Short of The Week and more! With the rise in demand for high-quality short content across new platforms and devices, and the increased industry importance placed on short filmmaking worldwide, we’re honoring the craft of short-form narrative screenwriting via this 3rd annual competition, which features a prestigious jury of industry-leading professionals. Accepting short film screenplays up to 35 pages in length.

2018 Deadlines

Early deadline: June 11, 2018
Final deadline: August 15, 2018

The grand prize is $1,000 cash and circulation of winning script to our jury as well as over 60 agents, managers, producers and development executives

Trevor Kress - Trevor is Director of Brand Content & Partnerships at Stage 13, Warner Bros.’ original digital content network, showcasing a new generation of inspired talent and voices in scripted and unscripted storytelling, including short-form content.

Winnie Kemp - Winnie Kemp is the VP of Original Content for Super Deluxe, an online platform owned by Turner Broadcasting focusing on digital series and documentaries.

Andrew Allen - Filmmaker and technologist, Andrew Allen is the Founder & Managing Director of Short of the Week—the web’s leading discovery engine for the new generation of filmmakers. Recognized by Filmmaker Magazine as one of 25 New Faces of Indie Film, he has had his films recognized by Wired, Fast Company, and festivals around the world. He is also the Co-Founder and Head of Design of FiftyThree, makers of the popular Paper drawing app and winner of Apple’s App of the Year award.

Jeffrey Bowers - Jeff curates short films for Staff Picks for Vimeo and VICE Shorts. He has also worked for Tribeca Film Festival and the Hamptons Film Festival.
