ScreenCraft has just committed to partner with Lights Camera Cure to raise funds to help fight pediatric cancer. We will donate 10% of submission fees for our Family-Friendly Script Contest to Lights Camera Cure, an organization that has donated over $100,000 to the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital in its first two years. This year, Lights Camera Cure is also partnering with Children's Hospital Los Angeles, a member of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
Lights Camera Cure is hosting a 6-hour dance party/charity event at the historic Avalon Theater in the heart of Hollywood on Sunday, March 23rd, 2014 from 2PM-8PM. The event features live entertainment outfits (bands, musicians, DJ, etc.) who perform for supporters who have signed up to dance and raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer research and treatment. You can join the fight (and the party) here.
From the Lights Camera Cure website, here is some more background on their organization:
"For the past 40 years, students at Penn State University have held a dance marathon (known as “THON”) to support the fight against pediatric cancer. The 46-hour event is the largest student run philanthropy in the world benefiting The Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.
A few years ago, a group of Penn State alumni in Los Angeles decided they wanted to keep on dancing For The Kids, and they founded Lights Camera Cure. In its first two years, they event has donated over $100,000 to the Four Diamonds Fund.
We’ve grown a lot since that first year, but the mission remains the same: eliminate pediatric cancer."
