2021 ScreenCraft Podcast Writing Competition Winners

We are excited to announce the winners of the inaugural 2021 ScreenCraft Podcast Writing Competition.

On The Virge by Rebecca Duckert & Liz Beeson has been selected as the Grand Prize Winner, Golden Boy by Steve Anthopoulos, Vidya Rajan, Mansoor Noor, Sami Shah and Luke Davidson has been selected as the Fiction Podcast Winner, and Lullaby of Old Broadway by Curtis Russell has been selected as the Non-Fiction Podcast Winner.

On The Virge, is a non-fiction podcast that explores the good, the bad, and the ugly of your sexual debut. Whether your first time was the best sex of your life, a random hook-up, forgettable, or regrettable, we were all new to this once. And no matter how it went down, one thing’s for sure: you never forget your first.

Golden Boy, is a fiction podcast about Hassan, an idealistic young imam, who goes viral after saving Christmas caroling teens from a burning bus and joins forces with a ruthless PR manager, Alia, to build his progressive unity mosque in a divided Australia.

Lullaby of Old Broadway, is a non-fiction podcast about 200 years of Broadway and Hollywood history in 30 minutes a week.

In addition to the ScreenCraft team, this year's jury included executives from Studio 71, Big Spark Studios, and creators of Limetown and The Love and Luck Podcast.

The Grand Prize Winner receives a Development Deal with Studio71, an established podcast and film/television production company behind podcasts from MKBHD, Amanda Cerny, LaurDIY, Donut Media, SHADOW DIARIES and more, as well as film/television such as PLUS ONE (2019 Tribeca Film Festival Audience Award), television shows with ABC, NBC Facebook Watch and more. Congratulations to these winning writers and finalists, and thank you to our judges and to everyone who submitted projects; we read a number of remarkable submissions.
