Announcing the 2019 ScreenCraft Cinematic Book Competition Winners

We are excited to announce the winners of the 2019 ScreenCraft Cinematic Book Competition. Selected from over 1,200 submissions, Who Killed Buster Sparkle? by John Bateman has been named as winner and Anna Incognito by Laura Preble has been named runner-up. Caravaggio: A Light Before The Darkness by Ken Mora has been named the winner of the graphic novel category.

Who Killed Buster Sparkle? follows a black ghost with partial amnesia, meets the only person who can see him: a gender-fluid drag queen. As they solve the ghost's strange mystery, they quickly learn they need each other more than they realize.

In Anna Incognito, when Anna Beck, a woman with severe trauma and extreme OCD, receives a wedding invitation from her therapist/would-be lover, she takes to the road to stop the wedding.

Caravaggio: A Light Before The Darkness follows the life and works of Italian artist, Caravaggio, whose works resuscitated a struggling church and a secret love affair led to his tragic death.

In addition to the ScreenCraft Team, this year's jury was comprised of literary agents from  The Gersh Agency, United Talent Agencyand 3 Arts Entertainment.

Both the Grand Prize winner, Bateman, and runner-up, Preble, will each receive cash prizes and have their material circulated to ScreenCraft’s network of agents, managers, and producers. Mora will also receive consultation from the ScreenCraft team and have his material circulated and developed.
