What are the Dates of the ScreenCraft Writers Summit in partnership with the Atlanta Film Festival?

April 5th – 8th,  2019

Where will it take place?

The 2019 ScreenCraft Writers Summit will take place at the historic Georgian Terrace Hotel, in midtown Atlanta.  The panels, workshops and socials of the Writers Summit will take place in the Georgian Terrace ballrooms, meeting rooms and event spaces.

The Georgian Terrace has unique history in Atlanta, and with the entertainment industry! Since its opening in 1911, the hotel has been the place for numerous historic events and housed several prominent guests, including Clark Gable, Calvin Coolidge, Walt Disney, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. In fact, the option agreement for the movie rights to Gone with the Wind were struck in the lobby of this hotel before the book was published; it went on to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1937 and the film adaptation is one of the most iconic and beloved in American cinema history.

Panels, workshops and public group discussions. The panels and workshops will feature our A-list writers, television showrunners, studio and network executives, agents, managers and more.

How do I attend?

To attend the ScreenCraft Writers Summit, you need to have a Writers Summit Badge, separate from an Atlanta Film Festival Badge. There are three different badges for the Writers Summit: Elite and Summit Access, and a bundled badge which allows access to all writers summit AND film festival events.

While all panels, workshops, happy hours and evening events are open to anyone with a Writers Summit Badge, some of the more exclusive events are for Elite badgeholders only.  For the full list of events for each badge type, check the website.

PLEASE NOTE:  The ScreenCraft Writers Summit Elite Badges are SOLD OUT.   Summit Access badges remain but may not be available on-site.  Be sure to get your badge now if you want to attend.

How do I get my badge?

Badges must be purchased on our website, and they can be picked-up in-person at the Box Office.  Official photo ID will be required for pickup.

If I have an Elite Badge, do I need to sign-up for the Small-Group Mentor Sessions, or other events?

No. Specific instructions containing the details for these events will be sent to all Elite Badgeholders in March, 2019.  Stay tuned for details.

For the Small-Group Mentor Sessions, you will be assigned an hourlong session throughout the weekend. Writers Summit staff are personally hand-picking sessions for each attendee to ensure that everyone has an equal mix of meetings – Studio Executives, Agents/Managers, TV Writers & Showrunners, Producers, etc.

What’s the Pitch Event and how do I sign up?

The Pitch Competition at the ScreenCraft Writers Summit is your chance to let your work shine, compete for prizes and profile your skills to our panel of judges, A-List Hollywood writers, agents, managers and producers.

How it works:   Prepare the best possible pitch of your work – it can be feature, television series, webseries, play, podcast, you name it.  But the pitch has to be TWO (2) MINUTES or less.

The goal is to be efficient and dynamic, cutting straight to the heart of your best material!

In the weeks leading up to the Writers Summit, you can sign-up for a preliminary pitch time on  anytime between 10am Saturday 4/6 and 3:30pm Sunday 4/7. You’ll pitch to our first round of judges who will select the finalists.  

The finalists will then live-pitch to a the VIP judges at an evening social, on Sunday 4/7.

What do you win?  An amazing prize, the exclusive chance to have all eyes and ears of the Summit focused on your work, and of course, bragging rights as the “Best Pitch of the Summit!”

Please note that you must have your badge before March 22nd to participate in the Pitch Competition. Badges purchased after March 22nd will not be allowed to register for the Pitch Competition.

Can I bring a guest?

Most Writers Summit social events are for badgeholders, only.  Guests are welcomed to the Saturday Night Party on 4/6 and are welcome to purchase a ticket for the Summit Family Dinner on Sunday 4/7.  For any special situations please email our Attendee Coordinator.

Are the event venues accessible for people with additional needs?

Yes, the ballrooms and meeting rooms at the Georgian Terrace are all accessible via elevator.   Some of the offsite events (ie Pitch Competition Finals) are a few blocks away, within walking distance or short ride from the Georgian Terrace.

What is the dress code?

The recommended dress code for all events of the Writers Summit, including happy hours and parties is “Entertainment Casual”. This means: Whatever makes you feel comfortable, confident and professional. The event has a relaxed, casual atmosphere. All parties have the same atmosphere, no suits or black-tie required.

Is it a part of The Atlanta Film Festival?

Yes, The ScreenCraft Writers Summit is a partner of The Atlanta Film Festival and takes place over the first few days of the Film Festival.

What is the parking availability & rate at the Georgian Terrace Hotel?

Writers Summit Badgeholders have a discounted self-parking rate of $15 per day, $18 overnight (for Summit guests staying at the hotel).  Valet is $35 per day.
If you are self-parking at the Georgian Terrace, be sure to pick up a parking voucher from the Writers Summit box office when you collect your badge.

How much are Badges?  Do the prices change?

Are there Student Badges available?

Student Badges are currently SOLD OUT.

If you purchase a student badge, you must present a valid and current student ID at badge pickup.  If you do not present a valid and current student ID, the badge cannot be picked-up and purchase price will not be refunded.  

Are badges refundable? 

All badge sales and summit add-ons are fully refundable minus a $50 processing fee until March 1st, 2019. After that date, all purchases before and after that date are non-refundable and refunds will not be honored for any reason after March 1st. All badges are non-transferrable.

If I have a Summit Badge, can I see movies at the Film Festival?

Writers Summit Elite badgeholders automatically get standby access to all films at the Atlanta Film Festival. “Line C” at every screening is for standby, 90% of films admit all standby ticket holders!
