News: First "The Hateful Eight" Script Was Leaked, Now So Was the Film

First agencies leaked Quentin Tarantino's original script for The Hateful Eight a couple of years ago and now a leaked DVD screener copy of the film has appeared on multiple file-sharing sites with between 200,000 and 600,000 downloads of the film occurring on the first day alone. The leak has been traced back to a copy mailed to Alcon Entertainment co-CEO Andrew Kosove.
The copy was signed for by an office assistant.
The FBI and The Weinstein Co. were able to determine the source of the leak from a watermark on the DVD sent to him.
Andrew Kosove stated: "I've never seen this DVD. It's never touched my hands. We're going to do more than cooperate with the FBI. We're going to conduct our own investigation to find out what happened."
The print was uploaded by a group known as Hive-CM8 which claims to have screener prints of numerous major movies and are uploading them one a day over the next few weeks. So far this list has included The Revenant, Brooklyn, Straight Outta Compton, The Peanuts Movie, Joy, Creed, Steve Jobs, In the Heart of the Sea, and most recently Concussion and The Danish Girl.
