News: Sony Buys Second Project from ''Winter's Knight" Writers

Sony Pictures has acquired an untitled spec written by Ben Lustig and Jake Thornton. Insider sources say that Bryan Singer is close to signing on as a producer with American Sniper producer Andrew Lazar is in talks to to produce as well.

Plot details are being kept under wraps.

Singer would produce through his Bad Hat Harry Productions along with producing partner Jason Taylor, and Lazar will produce through his Mad Chance shingle.

The studio recently paid Lustig and Thornton within the seven-figure range for their spec Winter’s Knight, which is a Viking mythology-tinged origin story about St. Nick and Christmas. They also penned the The Wells Initiative for the studio. They are both represented by Circle of Confusion, WME, and Ziffren Brittenham.
