"Game of Thrones" Rules the 2016 Emmy Nominations

The nominations for the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this morning by Anthony Anderson and Lauren Graham.
There were many surprises and many snubs that will surely keep social media fueled for the next couple of months. The Good Wife was snubbed for its final season, which was a surprise to many, but considering that this season was considered lackluster compared to others, it wasn't that huge of a shock overall. Perhaps just an unfortunate one.
American Horror Story: Hotel failed to garner a nomination, despite both stars Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates getting a nod.
The Daily Show sadly hasn't survived the loss of Jon Stewart well, with Trevor Noah's first season failing to garner a nomination.
Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory was a surprise snub, as was the show itself.
Christian Slater, who won a Golden Globe earlier this year for his amazing performance in Mr. Robot, was a disappointing snub indeed.
Overall, Game of Thrones ruled the nominations with 23, which added to HBO's huge haul of 94 total nominations overall.
The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and Fargo received 22 nominations and 18 nominations respectively.
The "game" will indeed be on when the awards are handed out on ABC this coming September 18th.
