ScreenCraft Short Film Fund vs. Short Screenplay Contest

by ScreenCraft on May 7, 2016

We've had a couple questions come into our email inbox about the difference between our Fund and Contest for shorts.

Our Short Film Production Fund is administered by ScreenCraft with our friends at BondIt, a media financing firm in Beverly Hills. The purpose of our Fund is to offer emerging filmmakers the resources (up to $20,000) to make their short film. It's our long-term goal to build partnerships with the best new creative minds in the industry. We believe that screenwriting is the bedrock of the creative process in the entertainment industry, so we require a short screenplay and a cover letter which we evaluate to determine our winners.  The ScreenCraft Short Film Fund selects at least one recipient every four months.

VS.

Our Short Screenplay Contest is dedicated to celebrating the craft of short-form narrative screenwriting. We have assembled a noteworthy jury of industry professionals who are looking to create innovative short-form content for a variety of platforms - from events like the Cannes Film Festival and Slamdance, to new media companies like Snapchat and Maker Studios. Our judges will pick one grand prize winner annually.

As always, send us an email or message us on Twitter or Facebook -- we'll respond right away!

Keep writing.
