Announcing the Fall 2019 ScreenCraft Film Fund Recipients

Leading development consultancy and screenplay discovery platform ScreenCraft and Santa Monica-based media financier BondIt Media Capital have announced two recipients of the Fall 2019 ScreenCraft Film Fund backed by BondIt Media Capital

The first recipient is This is GWAR, a feature-length documentary chronicling the origin of American heavy metal band, GWAR, formed in Richmond, Virginia in 1984, composed of and operated by a frequently rotating line-up of musicians & artists.

The project is helmed by documentary producers Bill Parks and Tommy Avallone.

The second recipient is narrative short Taipei Suicide StoryA receptionist at a suicide hotel in Taipei forms a fleeting friendship over the course of one night with a guest who can't decide if she wants to live or die.

The project is helmed by KEFF ("Kevin Wang") a Taiwanese-American writer, director, musician and artist based in NYC, LA, and Taipei. He is a thesis graduate film student at NYU, where his first short, "Secret Lives of Asians at Night", received the Spike Lee Film Fellowship and was awarded the Jury Prize for "Best Asian-American Film - East Region" at the DGA Student Film Awards.

The ScreenCraft Film Fund is administered biannually in amounts up to $30,000 to talented filmmakers with projects that display singular talent, originality, vision, impact and development potential. The program accepts documentary and feature submissions in addition to short films and online series.

ScreenCraft provides ongoing creative development and BondIt (with sister company Buffalo 8 Productions) offer guidance and resources throughout the project’s production. Previous ScreenCraft Fund recipients include filmmakers Samira Shackle, Jonathan Machado, Mary McGuckian, Owen Kean, Haya Fatima Iqbal, Alex LanipekunNatasja FourieTom Botchii & Sam Kozel and Dani Bailes and Alexis KorycinskiDanny MaddenChris Osborn, Matthew Thorne, Farraz Khan, Colin & Megan Gray, Natasha Ngaiza, Justin Lernerand Cheryl Horner McDonough.
