by ScreenCraft on November 4, 2020

We are excited to announce the winners of the 2020 ScreenCraft Animation Screenplay Competition.

Shade by Nick Inglis has been selected from nearly 1300 entries as the Grand Prize Winner. Adaria and the Village of Souls by Claire Bosnich has been selected as the Feature Winner;  Brock Wilbur: Adventure Pig by Lukas Ridge has been selected as the Pilot Winner and The Object of My Confections by Andrew Kaberline has been selected as the Short Story Winner.

In the animated feature, Shade, when Max's grumpy grandpa Lando ends up lost inside his own memory, Max must find a way to get them both home in one piece, along the way realising there's more to the old man than weird smells and short tempers.

Adaria and the Village of Souls, is a feature about a headstrong young woman who defies her chief and her gods to save her murdered lover from the mythical Village of Souls, risking the balance between life and death and bringing two enemy nations to the brink of war.

Brock Wilbur: Adventure Pig is a pilot about a young reporter who travels to the big city to interview a famous pig with a snout for excitement, only to find herself entangled in his latest and greatest adventure!

The Object of My Confections is a short story about a chocolatier's "near-perfect" proposal plan that goes awry when a lovesick preteen steals his engagement ring.

In addition to the ScreenCraft team, this year's jury included executives from DreamWorks Animation, Academy-nominated and Academy-Winning Screenwriters of Ferdinand, Ratatouille, and Life of Pi.

Congratulations to these winning writers and finalists, and thank you to our judges and to everyone who submitted projects; we read a number of remarkable submissions.
